The Female Don

The
Female Don is a Pittsburgh, PA native residing in
Wilkinsburg, PA. TFD is enlisted in the Army Reserves in
Pittsburgh. She first found her calling in business and
production when she had put together a multi service empire
at the age of thirteen called Daressia Industries. The
services: house cleaning, light cooking, yard work, basic
computer tutoring, chid sitter, pet walker, and personal
assistant. TFD did that for a couple years then added
publishing a magazine into her ventures. “Get Down, the
Mini Magazine for the Steel City and Other Areas”. While
attending Schenly High School located by the Hill District
in Pittsburgh, PA, the magazine had grown to a little over
25 readers and was being sold in a record and book shop
called EZ Records Downtown Pittsburgh. TFD was involved in
an after school growth program called Urban Youth Action
Inc., where her youth coordinator got in touch with a
writer from the New Pittsburgh Courier who wrote a story on
TFD and featured her on the front page of the Business
Section of that newspaper. By that time TFD was hand making
jewelry, publishing magazines, and still running Daressia
Industries.
Unfortunately, her ventures had came to an abrupt halt
after she graduated with honors from Schenly HS. She was
called to go to boot camp in the fall of 2005 at Ft.
Jackson, SC. “It was the longest nine weeks of my life.”
TFD says. But she graduated and went onto receiving her
certification in military education in Administrative
Specialist and Postal. TFD came home which seemed to be for
good. While home she tried to start her ventures back up,
going to drill the first weekend of every month, working at
Champs Outlet Store in Century III Mall in West Mifflin,
PA, and attending church on Dearborn Street in Garfield in
Pittsburgh called Morningside C.O.G.I.C. Just when things
were looking up, TFD was called to Active Duty for
Operation Enduring Freedom in Djibouti, Africa. She was
stationed there for twelve months and spent most of her
time working (of course), reading, getting ready for her
classes at the University of Pittsburgh in Titusville, and
brainstorming of what businesses she can come up with to
start when she came home. As always with TFD she socialized
with other service members on camp and the locals while in
country.
Finally, TFD came home to her family and friends December
2008. She took some time to get ready for life again at
home and now she is on the move again. She starts school in
August at the University of Pittsburgh in Titusville and is
still in the game. The Female Don currently manages three
hip hop artist in the City of Pittsburgh and is also an
aspiring model and business mogul.
